History
The colonization of the Basilisk Isles and the unification of the various lands of the Summer Sea under Valyrian rule saw for many more opportunities for advancement for families of smaller name but great influence. The Bassilon Family has taken the expansion by storm, using their new influence and perhaps that of their chosen dragonlord loyalties to create ties and trade routes with the Summer Isles through marriage, opening up the broader world of Essosian goods to the Valyrian Freehold. Though the Lysareon family has steadily chipped away at their own influence with the loss of Volon Therys and their feud with the Daedaeris family, the Bassilons fortunes have continued to improve on the basis of good business practice and continued open trade.
