Ilroor Maror Settlement in The Cradle of Worlds | World Anvil

Ilroor Maror

Rules by Ozgarath the Indulgent this town is a layer in the Mad Dungeon and a most pleasurable diversion from the difficulties there. Known for its tight control and safe lounges it is also known for its debauchery and access to all sorts of drugs and pleasures.   Being ruled by an incubus and twin succubus sisters, makes the town very different than most outside the hells. The local temples are also often brothels, nude baths or the like. The local dark stone is used for building exteriors, but with the recent affluence in the last centuries imported lapidary marble, jade, and other decorative stone has made the interiors a riot of color and luxury. The local dress is typically gauzy or tight fabrics revealing much of the body.

Demographics

Mostly humanoid, plenty of humans, elves, tieflings, halflings, and gnomes, as well as enclaves of more exotic groups.

Defences

The Gates of Halick are two towers flanking the primary causeway into the wider reaches of the Mad Dungeon. Additionally the warlocks of Ozgarath that form the Flesh and Steel Brigade  provide significant firepower to the city's defenses.

Industry & Trade

Many businesses abound to trade in Vertin Dust as well as provide for the needs of the city. The Provisioner's guild maintains the Malqot grove which provides the fleshy dense fruit used to make the local ale(leaves and root cuttings), wine(fruit), and whisky(early pods). The Hospital is run by twin succubus sisters and they specialize in flesh warping and magical tattoos. Ever wanted to change your body, they will do it for a fee. The shippers find ways through the Mad Dungeon to sell alcohol, Vertin Dust, and other items and return the profits to the town.   The town imports decorative stone, fabric and various foodstuffs.

Assets

The most powerful assets are; a monopoly on the trade with Ver'Del for the Vertin Dust, an active portal to the plane of Arboiat, the powers in the Gates of Halick , the grove of Malquot trees and the diamond sun.   The Diamond Sun provides daylight, and starlight to the town making it the most like the outside world.
