Areyus Verhill was the Duke of Karhaven and the head of House Verhill. His daughter Salinda was married to Patric Malion, the prince of Navara prior to their assassination  .

Death

Areyus's death was a gruesome one and was intended as a message to any and all who would dare betray Kairoz the Andorian.
Graphic Description

Areyus was hanged by his wrists behind his back inside an iron cage and forced to watch his entire family, save for infants, burnt at the stake. Prior to them being put to the torch, they were forced to witness as the toddlers were thrown into the Roxmore and drowned. Finally, after suffering from severe internal bleeding and dislocated shoulders, Kairoz healed his injuries, only to have his men wrap the former duke in his own banners and place him on display atop the High Inquisitor's carriage during the March on Ader. He died of a heat stroke at an unknown date, his corpse tossed aside and left as food for vultures and wild dogs.
