Naranj
Demographics
Naranj is actually a smaller town, permanent resident-wise. There is a small upper-middle-class of managers, but most of the permanent population are uppper-working-class families, dedicated to running the pleasure/tourist industry of the town. The middle and working classes in Naranj do have a much higher standard of living and acquired wealth than similar classes in other towns on the continent due to the huge inclusion of tourist dollars in their economy (not to mention the wealth of the smuggling trade).
Defences
While the DBO - Defensive Beach Operation is technically the criminal organization that runs the city, and there are many smaller gangs that run the gambling houses and casinos, the DBO is very careful to keep the appearance of safety and a super-low crime rate, as they need the average tourists feeling safe to come to the city in order to keep the smuggling operation's cover and to not draw any unnecessary attention from HSA - Homeland State Authority. They provide a police force to patrol the city (that's totally in their pocket), and keep strong control over criminal activity being done in the public eye.
Industry & Trade
Most of the industry in this beach town revolves around the tourist industry - known for having the best beaches in the area - many recreational activities, spas, and hotels have formed up around the boardwalk. It is a town with many thriving casinos, bars, and is known for the live music scene. Because of the tourist scene and the migrant population, a large smuggling/bounty hunting operation has opened up here with the DBO - Defensive Beach Operation, a wanted criminal group hiding out from HSA - Homeland State Authority have taken secret control of the city.
History
Naranj was formerly a smaller fishing port of Della Anaranjha that belonged to The Siala Islands, known for it's food and drink when the sailors would come in with their catches. While the beaches were beautiful, it did not have the best reputation, and wouldn't be a place for families or the wealthy to come and spend their money. It was almost completely destroyed in The Third World War. When the continent was unified, Yulia Jalcobaekza took to rebuilding the town and starting up the DBO - Defensive Beach Operation as the group to do it. She knew that cleaning up the city and turning it's reputation around would be the perfect cover for any criminal activities (and for making lots of money).
