Cloning

Scientist pursued cloning originally add with the ever present food problem that came with expanding one's race. They succeeded, so well in fact that they could make complete clones of animals which was good, since the world ending didn't help their population. Next it was used to clone parts of a human to replace so a donor was not needed. In time humanity would attempt the first human clone, again it was met with great success. though the clone doesn't retrain memories so it was essentially a different person all together. Then the moral questions came to bear, but humanity seemed to widely accept that cloning a human completely fully grown served no morally just benefit if the memories couldn't be cloned with them. The darker parts of humanity had a field day slaves, parts, muscle you name it all you had to do was to be able to afford the process.
That isn't to say the cloning process was completely worthless to the just, some used it to make a child to raise, or for the before mentioned food and medical purpose.
Though cloning isn't illegal it is highly regulated to stop as aforementioned slavery and in the very unlikely scenario that a clone army is raised.
