Canillo is a barony located in the western part of the Duchy of Fairden, and is part of the Kingdom of North Cassel. It is bordered on the west by the Mountains of Cil. To the south is the barony of Agennum To the east is Aldarra and Marsan. to the North is the the Ash Mountains, the kingdom of Lyonne and the baronies of Dryadalis and Ardens.

Almost the entirety of the province is located in the Sylvan Uplands, an area of highlands mostly covered by pine forests. the closer you get to the ash mountains, the more the trees become ash trees. The climate is almost entirely continental, with some subarctic climate areas in the mountains.

Unlike Aldarra, Canillo is mostly empty and not industrialized. The barony doesn't produce any products on a large scale. There are vast areas of pinelands, with some old growth forests being thousands of years old. while mostly humans still live here, a significant portion of the population are elves and horned elves, living deep in the woods far away from any civilization.

About the only value the land has to the outside world are in the old Silver Age ruins that dot the landscape. All of them are overgrown with thousands of years of vines, trees, and other things, and it's difficult to tell them apart from hills. Inside these ruins you will find objects from the era. Some of them are easily recognizeable, while most are rusted away beyond recognition.

There is one small issue with these ruins. They are inhabited by nameless horrors, indescribable beings that were altered beyond anything that could be consiered human. They were of the Silver Race one, but the Silver Age Cataclysm changed that. There are explorers that will delve into these ruins. Some are never heard from again, while others return, bringing ancient artifacts with them that are useful to scholars trying to rediscover lost technology.
