High Plains - Hollowguard Log

With the Wooden Shields taking over guard duty at the mountain fort, we were able to explore the high plains without worrying about losing the fort again. We explored for five days before we returned. We found limited traces of wolves, suggesting that there's no pack laying active claim to the area. We encountered multiple flocks of terror birds, of which we had to fight off one.
We found no traces of local civilization. We did discover how animals hide themselves from terror birds, by taking cover in shallow crevices covered with undergrowth. These crevices are easily recognisable from a distance, while on the ground they do not provide enough cover for a wolf to lay in ambush.
