Call to Settle the Valley - OLD

The Call to Settle the Valley is a proclamation that has been hung in every settlement within Lord Lebon's domain, both his own and the lands he accidentally conquered.
Lord Lebon felt it his duty to take good care of all his subjects, including the one ones. But his supplies were at risk due to the recent droughts and damage from the war. While he was meeting with his advisors to make a plan, he received word that a recent rockslide had cleared the path to the Valley of Plenty. It was then that he decided to follow the Rise of the Valley prophecy.
Troops were rallied, adventurers recruited, and messengers were sent out to spread the proclamation to every single settlement, no matter how small. Then, the gathering of resources began. Now the march to the valley will begin, with enough resources to last an entire year. Whether the people will survive after that, will be in their hands and out of the Lord's.

Call to Settle the Valley - OLD

The following says Lord Lebon to his subjects:
My people. These are trying times. Droughts and warfare have ravaged our lands. We are in need of land, not just to raise crops and livestock, but also land for people to live. But there is good news. A mountain pass has opened up, giving us access to a fertile valley.
By my command, we are sending an expedition of soldiers and adventurers, tasked to claim this valley for our people. Those brave enough to join and help raise new towns, will be rewarded for their acts.
So do I declare: Every family that joins the expedition to the valley, will be rewarded there with 20 acres of land, theirs to use for as long as the kingdom stands. Furthermore, they will not be taxed for twenty years.
On the second spring moon, our troops shall march, with enough supplies for all. Those that wish to join, can either be at the capital then, or join the march on the way towards the valley.
