The Rift

Deep at the bottom of Urborgasjön is a rift in the ground. Nobody knows what dwells within the rift because the water inside it is too hot for anyone living or visiting the body of water to traverse. With this hot rift, the body of water that is Urborgasjön should be warmer than other bodies of water of this size. But it is not. The warmth of the rift quickly disappears after leaving the area of the rift. The creatures living in Urborgasjön have done extensive research on how close they can come to the rift without burning themselves. Some species even use the rift as a test of courage for youths. One of these are the Vattenfolket.
The rift sits pretty much in the middle of Urborgasjön and even though some people not in the know know about the existence of the rift from diving in the area, it's not a well known phenomenon. The supernatural people who know about its existence have tried to keep it hidden.

The oldest being living in the Urborgasjön say that the rift has always been there. So it is believed that it's a natural rift that has been there for as long as the Urborgasjön.

LOCALIZED PHENOMENA

During different times of the day the rift emits different sounds, always the same sounds at the same times. With this, the people living in Urborgasjön have been able to tell time more closely than just between day and night. Between 11:00am to 11:30am every day it almost sounds like the rift is playing Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. The sounds changes every half hour and the sounds aren't that loud.
