History & Usage

History

It is used across the world to make clothes. Historically is was used to make clothing for world leaders and the rich and powerful however in the modern day it is used to make everyday clothing for everyone. It is particularly popular for school uniforms as it allows them to grow with the students and it acts as protective clothing, especially useful with younger students still trying to get used to controling their powers.

Discovery

It was originally discovered in India in antiquity and was kept a well guarded secret. This secret was discovered during colonisation in the 1800s but the process was expensive and in Europe the material was the reserve of the aristocracy. 

During the second world war, the American magic users discovered the secret to producing this material. During the 1950s they created a process for mass producing this cloth and it became the common place material that it is today.

Everyday use

Currently, it is most commonly used for school uniforms in the magical schools as is allows students' uniforms to grow with them and stops them from wearing out with constant use.
