Order of the Iron Gauntlet

The Order of the Iron Gauntlet is an order of Death Knights from Lond Ebon. Members of the order make up the upper class of the principality.

Structure

The order is headed by Eorl, the first death knight of Bane. Beneath him are the five companions, who were the first converts in 833 AB; all companions are undead, each reanimated after their death in battle.
Not all Londian death knights are members of the order; knights of the order take an additional vow:

The Fourth Allegiance is to the companions, for they knew better than all.

History

Originally, the order served Baravor and was neutral aligned rather than evil. Eorl himself was a knight of the order, and was trained by high ranking members; some of them would later become the companions. When Eorl turned to Bane, he used his influence over the upper echelons to facilitate the order's conversion and corruption into following Bane as well.
