College of Discord

The College of Discord is a bardic college in the Paquecian Republic dedicated to the study of dissonant harmonics and anharmonic tunes. Despite its unusual field of research and its unconventional style of music both being noteworthy on their own, the college mostly known due to being built on a floating island, above the waters of Paquecia's northwestern bay.

History

The island is persumed to be be levitating since 10,000 BB, supposedly a byproduct of the powerful magic used in The Coblyn Dragonborn War, when the Demesne of Asybinsera was founded.
When the demesne fell, humans established a small settlement on the island. Over time, the settlement began attracting artists, especially musicians, which found great inspiration on the island; contemporary writings describe how bards who lost their muse would suddenly find it anew.
Naturally, aspiring artists flocked to the island in order to study under the island's residents, and eventually the college was founded. Many of the Paquecian states see the island as the cradle of their civilization and culture.
