Paquecian Republic

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Paquecian Republic, also known as Paques, is a federation in north Epeoris comprised of 13 member states and the federal district of Canselos.

Culture

Paquecian speech is characterized by a distinctive muffled accent, giving their spoken words a softened, somewhat indistinct quality. This is also evident in Paquecian singing, which emphasizes deep resonant tones that blend together in a somewhat overwhelming manner.   Paquecian music is defined by its discordant and unconventional harmonies. Their compositions often incorporate clashing tones and abrupt shifts in rhythm, creating an intense but unsettling listening experience. Choirs play a central role in Paquecian musical tradition, and songs typically performed by large vocal ensembles rather than soloists.

Military

The Paquecian states have not been in any major conflict for a very long time, and as of 1050, the Paquesian army is ill prepared for war, using outdated equipment and poorly trained. The Yokun Grausur Campaign prompted the federal government to divert its treasury towards military purposes, and the states follow suit. Paquecia, together with the Theocracy of Ciambavign and the Grieselandic League, is a member of the Northshore Alliance.
