Should the stars fall and the heavens break, I shall still be at her side.Caraneth Silmaira, also known as the Swordmaidens of the Starlight Veil in Lingua Imperial, are elite swordmaidens, sworn protectors of the ruling family and after 50 years of service, they usually form their own corps within the Armaithil.
They are the steel in the stillness of the royal courts, and the blades in the shadows of the sacred glades.
Composition
Structure
Though they number few, the Caraneth Silmaira stand at the very pinnacle of Armaithil martial elite. They are not deployed like typical warriors, they are Bladesingers, Magi, warriors, rogues, assassins.
On the battlefield, they are deployed only in the gravest of wars or when the Royal family herself marches to war. When they arrive, they are a signal to all that Amon-Thal has cast aside diplomacy and speaks now only through divine retribution.
Tactics
Caraneth Silmaira are expert duelists trained to cut down enemy commanders, bodyguards, or monsters. Their combat style is both elegant and explosive, like a graceful evasion followed by blinding flurries of strikes. They usually operate in trios or quintets, their abilities are amplified in unison. Their magical disciplines allow them to weave defensive wards or mirror one another’s strikes with supernatural synchronicity.
History
The origins of the Caraneth Silmaira stretch back to the earliest age of Amon-Thal, to the twilight years of the fledling kingdom, when the royal family was nearly slain by Dark Elves sympathizers. It was in that harrowing moment that a circle of her handmaidens took up arms, defended her with their lives, and repelled the would-be assassins. Their act of bravery gave rise to a tradition that became immortalized: the Caraneth Silmaira.
