Orckin

Orckin channel the primal fury of the natural world, suffusing their bodies and spirits. They are in constant conflict with the creatures and world around them. The war cry of an orc is a sound feared by most creatures, signifying that the fiercest warriors of two worlds are within earshot and are ready for battle. Each orc develops their own battle holloa, which they use to harness their connection to the fierce energies dwelling deep within them and announce their presence to enemy and ally alike. Just as fearsome is the blood holloa, a powerful sound made by the orc when they have taken the life of their prey. Like the battle cry, each orc has their own sound, but members of particular war bands often use the holloa of their leaders giving them credit for the kill and spreading their influence. This is a sign of respect and power for orcish leaders and heroes.   Orcish features include pointed ears, powerful jaws and animalistic teeth determined by their bloodline. The orcs of Otherworld display features of powerful animals of their native lands and often ally with the same spirits of the Everwold. Within Haelos, the most numerous and prominent of the orcs are those who bear the features of the boar. The next most populous are those of the wolf to the north and the lion to the south and west. The least populous are those who have the traits of the bear. Other bloodlines exist but are exceedingly rare. Orcs often use the animals that they share traits with as battle beasts, training them for war. Such beasts often develop more powerful bloodlines in areas under orcish control.   There are rumors of ancient orcish lines that share traits of other wild creatures. Sometimes individual orcs display signs of these ancient lines. These orcs can be celebrated, feared, or ostracized depending on the manifestation or circumstances. For example, if an orc were to develop the traits of a skunk or badger they may be seen as weaker than the other orcs of their kin, while an orc with the traits of a tiger might be seen as a great warrior. Such an orc is known as an ‘Anwar.’   Orckin may live lives as long as kin, but few wait for time to take their spirit, preferring to engage in a final fight known as the last holloa, where the orc leaves his people and travels testing his prowess and strength against all they encounter until they are finally bested, or their body gives out.

Orcish Power

Orcs favor the TOUGH Approach.

Orcish Fury

You may mark a box of Otherworld Tricks to stave off the consequences of debilitating effects for a brief time, long enough to make your enemies pay a horrible cost.
  • When an Attack or Effect would render you helpless, you may unleash your fury in one last attack, delaying the original damage or Effect. As a Reaction, you may move directly to the nearest foe and make an Attack. No other action can be taken, and you are WARDED AGAINST ALL until the Attack is resolved. You then suffer whatever effect triggered the Fury.
  • NEGATE and UNSTOPPABLE 1 STRESS TO SELF against any Tier Appropriate Effect.

Epic Effect

When WARDED AGAINST ALL, deliver any Energy Effect you possess as a MASSIVE attack, even if you do not currently have the necessary Energy against any foe.

Mana Effect

Mark FOCUS after marking the box of Otherworldly Tricks for Orcish Fury. While you continue to use Energy Attacks your WARDED AGAINST ALL remains until you are out of Energy and the last attack is taken, ended by an appropriate defensive Energy Skill or there are no foes you can attack. You must use an Energy Effect every turn or have one active. Once the final Energy attack is resolved, you enter the DYING state.

Recovery

When you take down an enemy, you may use a CREATE AN ADVANTAGE to perform a blood holloa action using MIGHT to clear a box of Otherworld Tricks

Wild Blood

Choose one: Warriors of the Boar- Gain a level in the TOUGH Approach. Warriors of the Wolf- Gain a level in the GUILE Approach. Warriors of the Lion- Gain a level in the AGILE Approach. Warriors of the Bear- Gain a level in the WIT Approach.
