John’s Story
John wants to be a Lizardmyn because he read the DragonCrest novels and thought Sha’Li was a great character and he happens to like the ancestral abilities. So, he starts with his ancestry.
As a Lizardmyn, John's character will have a Breath Weapon and Natural Armor. He is Breath, Vulnerability and movement are options based on the ancestry he chooses. of a type of movement. John would like to make his character a tough older Lizardmyn from the Heaves where the mysterious Lord of Winter dwells. He thinks that he would like to center the skills of his character around his ancestral abilities.
- John likes the idea of a White Scale and decides that he will choose the option to Swim instead of Burrow.
- This character is going to be Tough, making him durable and resilient. An Expert level will add 2 Stress and allow him to heal his own Stress.
- John will advance his Discipline of Armor and his Discipline of Damage to Expert to help his Breath of the Dragon.
- Thinking of how he would like to fight and the Natural Style of Lizardmyn, John wants to use his claws, teeth and tail in a whirlwind of carnage, so he chooses the Dual Weapon Style. This will require a Master level.
- He likes the idea of biting, clawing or rending his opponent’s limbs so he chooses the Discipline of Maiming. This can also be used through his Breath, creating a frostbite like condition. John decides that he would like an Expert rank to inflict a condition with having to maintain Focus. He likes the idea so much that he decides that he will have people call him ‘Frostbite’ because his lizardmyn name is too hard to say.
- Does he want to specialize and become a Master of Damage, Armor, and Maiming?
- Does he want to increase his Discipline of Defense to get Parry?
- Does he want to have the Discipline of Survival to show his rough nature? Maybe in Wastes and Sea?
- Does he want to have the Discipline of Impediments to slow opponents and hamper different movement modes?
- Perhaps he has decided that Fire Elementals are his nemesis, and he wants the Discipline of Lore- Planes to know more about his hated enemies?
- Maybe he wants to be able to use the Discipline of Weakness to Weaken his opponents with cold.
- If he does start to pick up these different effects, John might think about increasing his Discipline of Water to allow him more options like being able to switch the effect or make it Unstoppable later.
- Being a Survivor is at the core of this character, so John chooses the Discipline of Survival- Wastes at a Skilled level. He will spend 2 Minor Milestone to add Hot Wastes and Swamps to his Cold Wastes.
- Being a patient hunter also seems appropriate and the Discipline of Tracking will let him find his quarry.
