Discipline of Walls

Skilled

You can create obstructions. Note: OVERCOME actions against a FIELD or BARRIER, only allow the creature performing the action to bypass the Obstruction. Special Notes: Creating a straight FIELD or BARRIER does not require a roll unless precision placement is necessary. Creating a circular FIELD or BARRIER requires a successful OVERCOME roll (Base 3). Creatures may oppose the roll to create a FIELD or BARRIER allowing them to determine where they stand in relation to the Obstruction. Note: FIELDs, BARRIERS and SHELTERS can be used to divide existing zones or create a new zone in the Scene.

Energy Effect(s)

  • Create a FIELD while FOCUS is marked. Creatures attempting to move through the FIELD need to spend an additional zone of movement and take UNERRING UNSTOPPABLE 2 DAMAGE BY [TRAIT].
  • Create a BARRIER while FOCUS is marked that cannot passed without a DISPEL or OVERCOME ACTION. If it is possible to move around the obstacle, it will cost the creature attempting at least an extra zone of movement.

Expert

Energy Effect(s)

  • Create a FIELD inflicts an UNERRING [NAMED SKILLED EFFECT] BY [TRAIT].
  • Create a BARRIER that cannot passed without a DISPEL or OVERCOME ACTION.

Mana Effect(s)

  • LOCK - Create an EXTENDED AND EMPOWERED lock and key for a FIELD, BARRIER, or SHELTER, allowing the effect to be suspended and resumed for the rest of the Chapter as though by placing the Key in the LOCK. Alternately, the caster may attune a Group of characters to the effect allowing them to act as Keys. LOCKS can be used to provide Energy Refuges for the purpose of treating injuries and performing Refresh on a Journey.
  • Create an EMPOWERED FIELD. For this FIELD replace an Effect of the FIELD with an UNERRING UNSTOPPABLE [NAMED MASTER EFFECT] BY [TRAIT].

Master

Energy Effect(s)

  • Create a SHELTER, an obstruction that encapsulates a structure or creates a new structure that is properly marked preventing the passage of creatures, objects, and Effects. SHELTERS cannot be nested.
  • Create a FIELD. Choose one of the following: An UNERRING UNSTOPPABLE [NAMED EXPERT EFFECT] BY [TRAIT] replaces the Effect of the FIELD while FOCUS is marked or  Create an UNERRING 4 DAMAGE FIELD BY [PATH].
Choose either FIELDS or BARRIERS.     Limitation: Fields cannot be generated by purely Physical means; they require a Path Trait. Alchemy Styles can only generate FIELDS and Physical Styles can only generate BARRIERS.   Standard Milestone Expansion: Add the other [WALL/FIELD] effect.   Minor Milestone Expansion: Add an additional listed Discipline for each level (Skilled, Expert, Master) to the effects that you can generate with this skill if you do not already possess the Discipline.
