  You know or deduce information related to a specific field.

Free Effect(s)

  • You know all common lore concerning your area of expertise without making any roll. This represents the level of a dedicated hobbyist.

Energy Effect(s)

  • Create a Lore Aspect with one free invoke concerning your area of expertise, without a roll.
  • OVERCOME by Lore (Skilled)
  • Accumulate 2 Successes in challenges where your Lore is applicable, including social situations.

Expert

Free Effect(s)

  • You know all uncommon lore concerning your area of expertise without making any roll. This represents the level of someone who makes a living through this knowledge.

Once a Chapter

  • You may use the RESEARCH ability with a single Specialized Lore (Minor Milestone).

Energy Effect(s)

  • DETECT Motivations related to your named Lore.
  • OVERCOME by Lore (Expert)
  • Accumulate 3 Successes in challenges where your Lore is applicable, including social situations.
  • DEFINE a creature, Effect, items, location, etc. related directly to the named lore.
  • Create a Lore Aspect with two free invokes concerning your area of expertise, without a roll.

Mana Effect(s)

  • RESEARCH- You may use a Library, center of knowledge, or other appropriate resource to discover greater lore.

Master

Free Effect(s)

  • You know all rare lore concerning your area of expertise without making any roll. This represents the level of a recognized specialist in the field.

Energy Effect(s)

  • OVERCOME by Lore (Master)
  • Accumulate 4 Successes in challenges where your Lore is applicable, including social situations.
  • HARVEST components from creatures or locations related to your Lore.
Choose from this list: Magic, Urth, History, Artifice, or Planes Magic- This lore deals with arcane effects, spells, and crafts as well as significant effects, theories, interactions, incantations, and arcane powers. Those with this skill are familiar with Attuned and Spectral creatures.   Urth- This lore deals with geography, geology, meteorology, natural effects, physical laws as well as locations and beings of note. Those with this skill are familiar with Beasts and Plants.   History- This lore deals with local and global history, heraldry, and cultures as well as significant people, events, places, and factions. Much ancient history before the formation of the House of the Healing Heart and the Empire of Koth is lost and not available. Those with this skill are familiar with humanoid Ancestries.   Artifice- This lore deals with all aspects of crafting, components, alloys, mixtures, substances as well as all knowledge not specifically covered in other lore skills. Those with this skill may identify items through Lore of the appropriate rarity or lower. Those with this skill are familiar with Constructs.   Planes- This lore deals with the different planar realms, effects, physical and magical laws as well as locations, beings of power and privilege in the Ascendancies and Otherworld. Those with this skill are familiar with Elementals and Fae.     Standard Milestone Expansion: The character may choose to add another option from this list by expending 1 Standard Milestone for each additional specialty.   Example: A character purchases the Expert level in Magic Lore. They then spend one additional Standard Milestone to also become an Expert level in Planes Lore. Later, after spending another Standard Milestone for a total of 4, the character becomes a Master in the Lore of Magic and Planes, 3 for the Master level Magic and 1 for the addition of Planes.
