You are adept at finding things and noticing details.

Free Effect(s)

  • Notice details appropriate to your Primary DETECT skill in your zone without an action. Additional information may be available for adjacent or additional zones as narratively appropriate. In the case of a Social Detection, the character will get a general emotion, not what it pertains to specifically. For example, the target is angry, not why the target is angry.
  • Use an Action to DETECT the presence of the specified [Trait(s)] on a specific target.

Once a Session(s)

  • Traps- DELAY the activation of a Trap while you or an ally is in physical contact with the trigger while FOCUS is marked. This can also be fueled by Energy.

Energy Effect(s)

  • Arcane/Alchemical/Physical/Traps- DEFINE the Effect(s) of the specified [Trait(s)/Object] that are not CONCEALED on a specific target per Action for the Scene.
  • Social- DEFINE the lowest ranked Motivation that is not CONCEALED.

Expert

Free Effect(s)

  • Notice details appropriate to your Primary DETECT skill in adjacent zones without an action.
  • Use an Action to DETECT the presence of the specified [Trait(s)] in your zone or one adjacent Zone.
  • Social- Ask one Yes/No question about the relevant Motivation when a Success or Failure is gained in a Social Conflict.
  • Social- After 2 total Successes or Failures know the number of Successes needed to win the Social Conflict.

Energy Effect(s)

  • Arcane/Alchemical/Physical/Trap- BURST REVEAL to you/allies/everyone in the zone the location of the specified [Trait(s)/Object]. The presence of the Trait/Object will be revealed immediately if it is not CONCEALED.
  • Social- DEFINE the highest ranked Motivation that is not CONCEALED that has not been previously revealed by this skill.
  • Traps- NEGATE ATTACKS BY TRAPS on you.

Mana Effect(s)

  • TRACK [TRAIT]- (Arcane or Alchemical Only) You may employ the TRACK effect against a single target of your named [TRAIT].
  • TARGET INVISIBLE- You may target a specific INVISIBLE or CONCEALED [Target] if it is applicable for your named [TRAIT].
  • AVOID TRAP- (Trap Only) NEGATE ATTACK BY TRAPS on your Group in the same zone.

Master

Energy Effect(s)

  • Arcane/Alchemical/Physical/Traps- Mark FOCUS to find CONCEALED items (such as LURES for Traps) with a contested OVERCOME roll and an appropriate action for the Scene.
  • Arcane/Alchemical/Physical/Traps- BURST REVEAL to you/allies/everyone in the zone the location of the specified CONCEALED [Effect/Creature/Object].
  • Social- Receive one Yes/No answer or a hint to a question about one of the Target’s untagged Incentives or Motivations.
  • Social- REVEAL to you the general meaning one of the Target’s CONCEALED Incentives or Motivations
  • Traps- NEGATE ATTACKS BY TRAPS on another character.
Choose from Physical, Arcane, Alchemy, Traps, Social. This is known as your Primary and determines what you can target with Free Effects.   Minor Milestone Expansion: Add [PATH], [Clade], or other modifier through additional named skills through Minor Milestone Campaign Skills.   Standard Milestone Expansion: Add another option from this list by expending 1 Standard Milestone for each additional specialty.   Example: A character purchases the Expert level in Physical Detection. They then spend one additional Standard Milestone to also become an Expert level in Alchemical Detection. Later, after spending another Standard Milestone for a total of 4, the character becomes a Master in the Physical and Alchemical Detection, 3 for the Master level Physical Detection and 1 for the addition of Alchemical Detection. The character is still Primary Physical and may only get free proactive information from that choice as noted under the Free Effects below.
