Kaya was born in the nation of Siebenhall, where her father, Noah Jade, was a military officer. Her mother, Cornelia Jade, was a Life-Mage and passed that down to her. She had a younger brother called Luke, who also joined the military forces, the same as her father.
When she was 15 her mother died in an accident and her father put her and her brother on a boarding school. A few years later he ordered the bombardment of refugees during a military conflict. After that he was captured, trialed and sentenced to life-long imprisonment.
At this point she was already at a university in another neutral country, or her studies would have been over at that point.
From a very young age she was interested in Magic and Science. After her time at college she had been deemed worthy enough to go to the only water catalyst on the planet, where she gained water magic from. Then she started her studies in medicine and bio-engineering and after getting her degree in both and finishing her training as a healer, she decided to leave Kalderian.
Outfitted only with a simple Spellstave and a few potions she saw herself getting unlucky enough to get captured and nearly harvested by Necromancers only two weeks after leaving her home.

Hobbies & Pets
She has picked up some Thief Ants from a dead Bone Thief and has recently captured a Zephyr and put it in a jar. Kaya likes to collect little creatures she can take care of.
