The caster goes into a deep slumber, and dreams of a person or place they wish to know more about. They will be shown a relevant episode, either a vision of the past, or perhaps of the future. These visions are accurate, at that time, but always in motion the future is.
Alternately, this spell can be used to directly contact a target. If the target is asleep, then the caster may pull them into a dream where they may converse. The caster controls all aspects of the dream, but may not harm the target in any way. They can certainly scare them, though. This spell is often used to communicate securely over vast distances when missives are considered too risky.
