Art Needed
Arthur (Art) Needed is an Australian artist who specializes in a wide varity of 2D and CGI graphical assets who...
I am joking of course! There is, of course, no one named Art Needed! :-) It is just our way of letting you know that we are looking for some art to add to our world. If you are on this page it may be because we contacted you for a specific project as a Commissioned Artist... but more than likely you were somewhere on Mernac and saw on a specific page: This is a placeholder for the art that will eventually take its place. If you know of some art that would be KILLER on the page you were on we would love for you to suggest it to us (we will even pay you for the suggestion if it is used). If you are the actual artist who created the work EVEN better! We would love to see your work in our world. We always will pay some fee (albeit not a huge one) for any art (or written) assets used in this OSC Project.
Thank you for this, and most of our providers say this. But here is the thing, we are sticklers about Copyright, creator rights, and not using anyones work without their express permission. We want to ensure that any provider actually owns or has the right to "sell" the asset to the OSC project to use (often non exclusively, sometime exclusively) and to continue to use, the asset. I am sure that any content the you personally would provide you have the right to do so... It the other guys I am worried about :-) This is important us and in OSC lingo we call it "Content Petuity." We are a world building community and some future writer, artist, game developer may reference something previously posted and do a lot of work based on it. Now if that asset were later to be pulled or taken down... their work may be wasted and the world we are building may become disjointed. You can find some example of how this could happen in the Content Petuity section of our Open Source Creativity page. So, thank you for the offer, but we will pay you "something" for any asset provided. Exceptions? But I love this project and want to give it to you for free!

As with most rules or guidelines there are always exceptions. For example, public domain work and sites like Pixelbay. Other exceptions can be found in the Content Petuity section of our Open Source Creativity page.
