Lycanthropy

For far too long have my people bled and suffered at the hands of ignore townsfolk. Not only have we been forced out of towns, denied the ability to buy footstuffs and any other hundreds of other comforts brought about by our modern farms and extensive horse and road system.
But now we must suffer the pitchforks and fire anytime a goat goes missing.
Rarely does a child go missing at the hands of one of my kind, there are numerous more dangers than my ilk out in the dark forest. I consider such attacks and accusations against us mostly baseless and should one of those accusations be true I merely request the ability for us to self-regulate and impose our own justice upon the guilty.
But that's just the thing! Isn't my dear townsfolk? Justice. We all define it differently, our standards and expectations of right and wrong vary so much based on our different experiences and viewpoints of the world.
Should my kind be forced to live under constant fear by those who self-proclaim themselves our superiors?
I say nay. A thousands times nay.
Yes we suffer and live with a condition some are fearful to even say. But such fear of a word only increased fear of the human who has it. If affects you by giving a way to demean and dehumanize us, programming you into a bias before you even speak with us. It affects us by making us something different and unworthy of a fair shake at life. Why give it such power to affect us all?
I say it's time to pull the word out of the shadows: Lycanthropy. This is the condition we live with each day. yes the harsh effects are triggered by events outside of our control but with the proper preperations we too can make great additions to society.
