Steam Year

Grayburn uses the Steam Year (SY) as its calendar. This calendar is named after the steam engine, or more precisely the year a working prototype was invented. The year starts during a full moon of Voithos, seven days before the cold solstice.
A Steam Year consists of five seasons, based on the larger moon Voithos. Each season starts when Voithos is full. Each season has two months, a Waning and a Waxing month, each split further into four weeks of nine days each. The weeks are named after the moonphase: New, Quarter, Half and Full.
