The Birth of the Dragons

I saw him once, long ago, when everything was young. Anatok, First of the Dragons, shrouded in myths and mist and time. I watched as he eclipsed a galaxy we controlled as he lead an army of billions across the realm.   That has been the only time I have ever felt small.   --10th of Bronze, Year 61

Summary

Long ago, the material realm was born from Chaos, where the four elemental pillars met. In was in this maelstrom that Anatok, First of the Dragons, was born. He was tasked by his creator with finding the Book of Prophecies, lost within the new realm. To aid him in his search, he gathered equal parts of the elemental pillars and created another black dragon, Skagg, the Second Born. Together, Anatok and Skagg created the rest of the elder dragon race, shaping each one as a black dragon in Anatok's image- millions and millions of them- to help in the search for the book.   The dragons were immortal, and so they spread out far and wide in their search, unafraid of the freezing vacuums and the fiery conflagrations that filled the young realm. It took an eon, but Skagg eventually found the book.   But rather than returning it to Anatok, he read it.
