The fairies all took flight at once, a hundred shimmering wings in the light of the runeflower. It was a beautiful sight, one that won't be around very much longer. I think a lot about all the beauty Death took from us, and all the beauty that is still being taken. I have never seen a play, but I was told that during the immortal times, fairies put on shows with a hundred thousand actors for audiences of millions. Had I known such things would one day end, I may have gone to see such a show. --13th of Mercury, Year 49
Civilization and Culture
The fairies are the shortest lived race, and thus the rarest. There are no ex-immortal fairies alive, and many of the living fairies have no interest in breeding. They worship the prankster god Jip, and delight in causing mischief throughout the city in small groups of three to five called faelies. Some choose to be thieves and assassins for hire, and can amass a small fortune in their short lives. They are also famous singers, dancers, and empaths, able to read crowds with great clarity and play to their preferences. There have been several famous fairy entertainers that have created entire new disciplines of theater and art to the great delight of the population of Stadupglod. The famous Huppster Theater was started by one such famous fairy. They can fly.
