Earth
The homeworld of Humans, Earth is where it all begins. For thousands of years, humans roamed the Earth until the 1900's when Humanity started to explore above and beyond; space. From the launching of Sputnik in 1957 to the moon landing in 1969, the one-way expedition of Voyager 1 in 1977 and the rovers on Mars in the early 2000's; space had captured the curiosity and imaginations of many human beings on Earth.
It was not until 2068 that humans began to migrate into space with the colonisations of Luna, Mars and much of the Solar System. During that time, not everybody was sold onto the idea of living in space, so there was a lot of mixed feelings on the matter. However, many sought the opportunities space provided, and taken their chances into the stars.
History
Early Space Era
During the early period of Human Colonisation of Space, the people of Earth had other matters to deal with. In the early 2000's as well as the rovers on Mars, humanity also sent satelites to other places, such as Venus, Europa and even the Sun. With the lingering challenge of Climate Change and over population, the old nations of Earth at the time increasingly rebalanced their focus to the exploration of the Solar System. DougEats was founded in the late 2000's to help enable sustainability for humans in Space. There were even efforts to tackle the problem of Gravity, or the lack of Gravity beyond Earth's Atmosphere, as spinning space stations were constructed. All of which are steps of mankind to live in Space.Human Expansion into Space
Luna was the first astronomical body to be colonised in 2068, however no habitat, colony, or any other complex would be constructed on the satelite itself. This was due to Luna's low gravity, and the technology required to build structures on the Moon itself had not been developed until the invention of Gravity Generators. Instead habitat stations were build to orbit Luna. 2071 was when Mars was to be the next home of Humanity. The frontier after that was the Asteroid belts, as industries built mining ships and refinery complexes across the belt in 2085.War of Humanity
Meanwhile on Earth, civil unrest was growing as tensions between nations were brewing. Martians were also discontent as many nation colonies on Mars had begun to separate from their Earth counterparts. Many colonies on mars were democratically and diplomatically declared independant. However, others had to fight for it; and many did. The fighting on Mars soon spread onto Earth, as many Nations undergone their own interplanetary civil wars. Soon, Nations began to fight each other. 2107 is the year Historians deem as the start of the War of Humanity. Within this 6 year war between planets, in 2110 many Nations of Earth formed an alliance known as the Nations of Earth Alliance. This was to secure peace in humanity, as the threat of total annihilation was feared by many. Eventually, peace was made after the Treaty of Humanity was signed by the NEA and the Mars Union in 2113, as Mars also united under one banner.Globalisation of Earth
In the aftermath of the war, Earth's nations stayed united under the Nations of Earth Alliance. In fact, in 2113 the nations had agreed to form an international planetary government of Earth. This would be a parlimentary council of the world's nations. The position of Earth's Minister was created to be the top government official of the NEA. A single currency was also formed as well as a unified system of law, justice and order. Thus the globalisation of Earth was complete.Dark Crystal
In 2182, Earth experienced a cataclysm as a meteror fell onto Earth. However, instead of destroying the planet, the meteor shattered into countless shards of rock and a material that became only known as Dark Crystals. Many studies into these crystals were conducted and even sacrifices were made. In 2184, the Saharan Climatology Research Complex was crushed into a ball after experiementing with the gravitational effects of the Dark Crystals. After that all research into these crystals were to be made only in the depths of Space.
