Formicidae Formations

Inspired by ants, W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. has created several intricate maze systems in confidential underground locations all over the globe. Though it is speculated that many are used for storing weaponry, valuables, and even prisoners, the most known and confirmed use of Formidicae Formations is for training Introductory Interns.

Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown:   W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. scientists understand the value of natural wonders. This is why they have tirelessly studied several creatures out in the wild, from majestic beasts like wildcats and eagles, to miniscule critters like rodents and insects. No matter how strange things get around here, one thing's for sure; this organization believes there is something to learn from everything in nature. Focusing an entire department on natural studies may seem futile to most. I can't blame people for laughing when I think about how most of the world has the idea that scientific and technological progression is evidenced by industrialization and destruction of nature, but this outlook has been proven wrong time and time again. Not even getting into all the irreversable mistakes civilization has made and later regretted, you can take a look at the other side. The side where learning from nature actually worked.   If you're looking for a good example, just consider some of W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.'s bases. They use intracate tunnel systems for various confidential purposes, just like ants do in their mounds. Did you know that ants build these gargantuan tunnel systems underground? And they do it all in the dark, too. That's impressive. I was drafted to try this pair of nocturnal goggles once. I still couldn't make sense of my environment. Imagine trying to dig with those things on. Near impossible. I might have that prototype laying around here in my office somewhere. I wonder if I could give it another try. If it could help me play golf at night, that would really be something.
