Faru is an ethnicity of people whose ancestors descended from the Federation, and who maintain some Federation traditions while integrating Taruan
traditions. In Taru
, the suffix -ru is a term of respect and endearment towards communities who appreciate Taruan values while sharing their own. Many Faru are very proud of their young and distinct ethnic group, and some Faru may distance themselves from Federation ethnic visitors who may have values that are not so well regarded in Taru.
There will be some people who do not consider themselves Faru, but might be labelled as such, seeing themselves more in line with The Federation. Those who identify this way may suffer stigma from other communities in Taru, particularly after the war that involved The Federation and Cantari.
