When humans wither and crack under the punctured sun, a strange instrument will be heard over the horizon. Follow it— take to the seas— and we will find ourselves a new home where cities of untold age lie.

  This prophecy is taken as truth by the Xholx, who eagerly await the day foretold. Within days, an extreme heat strikes the badlands which they call home— the skin of many cracks under the sun's harsh rays, and a strange music can be heard over the horizon. The nomadic group begin to chase after the music soon after.
