Vira Magic in Pulse | World Anvil

Vira Magic

Vira:

  Target:
  • All magic is technically Vira magic, but Viramancy is the branch of study that involves spells that remain in base Vira form.
  • Specialists: Weavers.
  • Those that specialize in this form of magic are called Weavers. In the past, all mages were called Weavers, but recent developments in magical study have forced a distinction.
  • Attire:
  • Weavers wore as little as possible, often cloth over one's private parts.
  • The modern weavers are more modest wearing light clothing. The make and patterning is not important, what is important is that the spells are not hindered by dense or distorting materials.
  • Notes:
  • Weavers will interact with magic itself. Though that magic will interact with non-magical objects, unless they are specifically and methodically trying to manipulate that non-magical matter into another form, they are still Weaving.
  • Mastery as a Weaver requires a far-reaching understanding of magic, though many disagree on that subject, arguing that Sol Specialists shouldn't be held to a lower standard.
  • Weavers are sometimes far-removed from reality, because their pursuit of the magical might come at the expense of the material. They can be withdrawn.
  • Sub-branches of magic in this branch are very related, because they draw from the same magic energy to do different things.
  • Strands:

    Vitality:

Typical Color:  Green, Yellow Green   Specialists: Lifemages
  • Specialize in using magic to augment growth. They are healers, botanists, and generally some of the most respected and accepted mages around.
  • Most Lifemages will study biology alongside magic so that they can understand how to more effectively use their magic.
  • The goal of those practicing this magic is to heal or to make orderly an organism, or to enhance it.
  •

    Entropy:

Typical Color:  Blue Green, Yellow Green   Specialists: Siphons, Warpweavers, and more
  • Specialists are named depending on what they are using this sub-branch for.
  • Specialize in using magic to turn the energy within a creature against them, or to simply distort the way magical energy flows in the environment to unpredictable effect.
  •

    Commutation:

Typical Color:  Yellow, Yellow Green   Specialists: Shapemages, Shapers
  • Magic in this branch moves magical energy that is not within a living thing around. It can enter a living thing or not, but it must originate outside and not inside a living thing.
