Description:
A sporesprawl is a rare type of blightfungi that will remain dormant in a pod-like structure, passively feeding on whatever stray energy is nearby, until it activates and begins producing spores at an explosive rate. These spores then begin to spread a spongy growth wherever they touch down, forming the substance that could be considered the second stage manifestation of the sporesprawl. Finally, the spongy growth starts to decay, receding back into freshly formed pods, accumulating in areas with the highest resource availability. This process is ecessively disruptive to the surrounding environment, puzzling researchers. Harvesters and combat seekers alike avoid areas where sporesprawls are known to be active. It is not a pleasant experience to have your body's vitality sapped away with every step you take, worse still when you find that coexisting blightbeasts all have traits that make them suited to operate in such environments.
