Darkcoil is mistaken for Silverclutch and Wenderweave most of the time, but it is currently believed to be a variant of one of the two. As for which, researchers do not know and not enough samples have been obtained to find out.
It is found underground, in festerfonts that encroach upon the Darksprawl. It is able to communicate over vast distances, in part by hijacking the senses of biological creatures all around the festerfont in which they are based. Once a creature has been released from its control, it forgets everything that it did for the tangle.
