Covenant Tournament

  • The [Shrouded Tournament] is a yearly event held in the capital city. It is primarily a fighting competition with six stages, each styled after one of the Hexaline Deities. Though it is promoted as a holy ritual, a way of growing closer to the Remnant, it is a way for the sitting Channeler to increase their support among the people they lead.
  • Champions of the surviving Hexaline Knights, called “Apostles”, fight in this tournament. Traditionally, each one is dressed in concealing armor by the Hexaline Knight they champion. This is in line with the theme of trusting in the Covenant of Shade.
  • Combat involves competing against the other Apostles on these six stages. It is allowed and even encouraged to use force against other Apostles. It is frowned upon to intentionally kill, but that does not mean it does not happen. This is part of the reason the event is so popular.
  • Each Channeler will put their own slant on the competition, altering the rules based on their
  • Story Note: Use this event in the story to introduce many of the other subjects, who have (willingly or unwillingly) been selected to be Apostles for different Hexaline Knights.
  • [Caim’s First Tournament]:
  • This is Caim and the reader’s first introduction to the tournament events. Everything is happening so fast, and he enters as Corsa’s Apostle without really knowing what he will be expected to do.
  • Not all of the Hexaline are represented by the full count of 6 Apostles. Caim learned from one of Corsa’s comments that each Paragon is appointed 6 Hexaline Knights. He wonders why this may be. Later he learns that it is because the Hexaline Knights have fallen.
