Charke

Description:

This leylode rock is deep green in color. It dense, and it does not easily cleave apart. When it is subjected to stabilizing chemicals during processing, it takes on a pale green color. Stable processing seeks to make the substance suitable for mainstream use, in residential furnaces and other such devices.   However, there exists an alternate mode of processing, whereby impurities are removed and charke chunks increase in density. this is known as potency refinement. The more potency refined charke becomes, the more volatile it ends up, and the more efficiently it burns.   In early applications, charke had gotten the nickname "Fool’s Stone" for how dangerous it is to handle. In Shroud, it is usually handled by subhumans laborors. Overseers watch from a safe distance so that they do not pocket the dangerous materials. Fatality rates are high, but it is a very profitable industry.   Uses:
  • A common source of fuel that can be burned like coal to fuel various technological devices.
  • It can be processed into a more volatile form that is then placed into incendiary weapons or breaching charges.
  • Hexknight Uses: Gillis refuses to process Charke in his warehouses. In fact, knowing he will be pressured to do so, he builds them very close to major civilians centers so that he can claim the risk of human casualties as the reason why he won’t do it.
