Godsbone

Godsbone is the generic name given to any sort of extraterrestrial rock or mineral, ie from a meteorite, that has been collected by humans. It received this name due to the early religious belief that it was in fact the bones of a divine creature that had been lost in battle in heaven, and subsequently crashed down to earth. Though the religions that once believed this no longer exist, the name stuck, and it is still used as a catch-all term for celestial objects in the present day.   Though largely unremarkable in their actual mineral composition much of the time - the majority consisting only of iron, copper, or other mundane materials - samples of Godsbone are of immense value to smiths and Deveers alike due to the superstitious import assigned to them. Beliefs have been prevalent among human populations as to the supernatural abilities of weapons forged from Godsbone, commonly that they are capable of killing certain creatures like werewolves and gryphons, and these have been made a limited reality through the power of Mortalos, meaning that weapons forged from meteorite remnants are often far more durable and effective than they physically should be. For this reason, arms created from the material are prized throughout the world, and usually fetch a price high enough that only kings and the highest class of nobles can ever afford them.   Soon after the discovery of Intues, Kravulian deveers came to compete with warriors and kings for possession of Godsbone. A deveer by the name of Daniyar came to believe that Godsbone held vast untapped power that had yet to be exploited, namely that which had allowed it to travel through the sky at such a great speed. After over two decades of experimentation, he succeeded in creating the first of the zvezdnaya kolesnitsa, or star chariots. Daniyar's star chariots revolutionised transport within the Kravulian Tsardom and enabled goods to be hauled from one part of the country to another hundreds of times faster than through the use of horses, albeit with the limitation that they required Godsbone to create. This development resulted in the Tsar issuing an edict ordering the seizure of the few Godsbone weapons within Kravulia, in order for them to be melted down and used as power sources for new star chariots. The Tsardom have kept the existence of the star chariots a closely guarded secret, but ever since their invention have begun buying up all available stores of Godsbone in order to create and power more of the locomotives.
