Shendral

Shendral, Translucent Healer is the draconic deity of optismism and caring. They are one of the original Guardian Dragons created by several of The Heraldic Gods. Like many of her gemstone ilk, they spent most of their existence looking for ways to help heal living beings protecting them during their fragile mortal lives. Shendral is often followed by those who seek to bring light and hope to the world, as well as several prominent healers across the realm.

Appearance and Symbols

Unlike many of their kind, Shendral has only ever been recorded in draonic form. According to records they have never taken the form of a mortal, instead choosing to be transparent about their nature to those with whom they communicate. The followers of Shendral have described them as a draconic figure that seems to be completely angular and translucent like crystal. Some describe a powerful light coming from them that makes them look white along several of their extremities, with this strange rainbow glint to much of their frame. There are also descriptions that the jagged elements of Shendral's form creates a mass of ridged spikes down their back that allow them to hide as a collection of gemstones.   Followers of Shendral often use a set of crystal as their symbol. They create a symmetrical pattern that when put together form a set of wings. These are said to be a representation of Shendral's own wings, looking over and comforting their followers.

Places of Worship

As a member of the Guardian Dragons, Shendral doesn't often have temples erected for them. Usually worship is done by travellers and those who are moving around and adventuring. Regardless there are some temples that have been erected by different members of the realm, from humanoids to dragons. Often where there is a temple, there is a strong link to dragons.

Ossalimar

High in Myr's Ridge, there is a temple that was erected as part of the lair of the ancient Crystalline Dragon Araesolin. They created their lair to be a sanctuary for those that they come across that need some form of caring. Within the Ossalimarian Empire, many people suffer some form of religious trauma. Araesolin's temple is designed to help people find their true calling, even if its not worshipping Shendral.   There is a small sect of Drakin and Dragontouched in the Daunka Province who follow Shendral's teachings and travel to different corners of the continent hoping to help people.

Fieldas

In QIl'Sora City, there is a large temple to Shendral that acts as a place of healing and caring for those who need it. The Velendaris is both a hospital for those who are sick and a place for those who require additional care. This building has become known for its emphasis on care and hope that one will get what they need from the temple. This is also one of the largest dedicated spaces to Shendral within a city.   In the Aonis Wilds, there is a large commune of people who worship Shendral and other Guardian Dragons. The Karnaxh Clans are claimed by one of the Guardian Dragons, when they are they join the part of the clans that is linked to the dragon who claimed them. As a result, the Clans have spread out among several villages, leading to an influence of Shendral's, and other Guardian Dragon's, worship across the northern part of the wilds. Furthermore, Shendral's Clan are known to travel around healing those in smaller villages within the Aonis Wilds, becoming Paladins and Clerics to their cause.

Kyradon

Religion in Kyradon seems quite different to other places across the realm, particularly in the different parts of the continent. However, the The Jewelled Alliance have been very open of their worship of the Guardian Dragons, with several of its leaders acting as the voice of their relevant god within the alliance. Within the alliance, General El'dyira Larthan of Port Rydal has been very open of their worship of the Translucent Healer. As a result of her worship, she created a significant temple to Shendral that's focused on providing a place of opportunity for those who feel lost or concerned. The Future's Temple is also filled with a collection of people who are said to be able to read the future, these oracles providing guidance for those who feel they need it.   One of the various Skulker Bands that line the Slycol Desert is dedicated to the worship of Shendral. The Lutavine Band are known to go into various small settlements and ruins offering to help people with transport and healing, spreading the worship of Shendral and providing for those who need assitance.

History

Born during The Dawning, Shendral, like other Guardian Dragons, was once just a creation of the realm, a powerful dragon that inhabited the realm. Shendral was chosen because of her powerful will towards the power of good. They were chosen by Tyril to fill a position as a Guardian Dragon, particularly one that aligns with the idea of being a lawful dragon, a kind healer for those who needed help.   Alongside the other Guardian Dragons, Shendral helped in The Rift to keep mortals safe from the divine powers of the gods as they flourished and came to blows for the first time. Shendral's role was to heal mortals and give them hope for their future despite the conflict. Despite this, they were known to be an adept killer, striking down many of the different devils and even minor titans that appeared in the realm.   The most famous conflict was between Shendral and an ice titan known as Elveroth, The Icepick. In this fight, Shendral used their brilliant radiance to blast forth an array of radiant light that reflected inside of Elveroth. In doing so, the blow was devastating, shattering the titan of ice and creating a set of small ice peaks to the north east of Sovmora. These would become the home of the Kutow Republic and the birthplace of the Morgalis.

Shendral was a neutral force during The Shatter, taking up a similar role to their position in The Rift, acting as a healer for mortals. In this time, she resided in smaller towns travelling and helping those who were being overwhelmed by powerful forces of both The Heraldic and Deceiver Gods. In doing so, her role as deity of optimism became clear, with many people considering her a beacon of hope for their communities and lives, particularly after facing hardships.   After The Parting, though their physical forms could remain on the mortal plane. All of the Guardian Dragons chose to return to a plane of draonic energies known as Karathos. In doing so Shendral and the other Guardian Dragons became a part of a council, who looked over the movements and abilities of the dragons who were on the mortal plane. Additionally, this acted as a divine afterlife for dragons of all forms and heritages, including ancestries linked to dragons such as the Kobold, Drakin, or even the Dragontouched.   Since leaving the mortal realm, most of Shendral's work has been carried out by her followers, particularly those of draconic descent that wish to help those around them. They have been known to grant powerful boons to those whom they consider their champion, particularly when they have shown a passion for caring for those around them. Often a cleric who has undergone personal sacrafice for others is rewarded with a draconic gift that grants them hope for their future.

I love Shendral and all that they stand for. They sound so beautiful too. I can see crystals bringing a lot of comfort to their worshippers when sick or injured.
