Kurgan
Kurgans are bipedal sentient, tribal race with mild magical essence but a far-traveling Vis. Average lifespan is 75 years. They age very quickly; their prime and beauty in comparison to other races and each other is brief. Their eyes are small and varied in shape; their ears are blunt and round. Their skin is smooth but often covered in patches of hair; scars easily. They have no tail.
General Appearance
Hair can be any color for Humans, black, brown, red, blond; skin tone ranges from pale to tan to olive-brown; can have any eye color for Humans and more yellows and purples stemming from the Orcs. Eyes have full range of epicanthal fold and palpebral slant, from mild to exaggerated.
Larger breed. Men and women are very close in size and both are muscular, though the men are usually stronger. Women have lower risk in childbirth. Men grow thick facial hair.
Culture and Heritage
Geographic origin: Eastern Steppes beside the Great Lake, between Ice Heart and Red Desert. This is a nomadic, heavily traveled crossroads and frequent battle space between groups from North, South, and Lakeside. This breed survived alongside Orcs for millennia as hunter-gatherers and raiders.
Magic
Magical heritage: Moderate heritage. Mages are known for mystics, life and death magic, shamanistic practices, and elemental sorcery. Weakest elemental magic is Air. Not known for divine or arcane studies.
Psionic heritage: Strong heritage, lower rate of individual insanity due to Orc/Mist Folk cultural teachings. Kurgan are at risk for “collective” insanity in the form of barbaric rage.
