Serenity Grove

On the edge of the community of Myndurel lies a sprawling temple complex dedicated to healing and to Mielikki. It is a place of refuge and recovery. It’s grounds are filled with flowers and herbs of every kind as well as pools of crystal clear water and steaming hotsprings. It is a place, not only for those who need physical healing, but for those in need of healing in the invisible and much more complex injuries of the mind.

Those who arrive at Serenity Grove are greeted by individuals who dedicate their lives to the place. Usually this is is a priest of Mielikki, but sometimes retired adventurers further who want to continue to help others, or in rare cases, feel the need to atone for their past deeds, also find themselves here. Druids, rangers, clerics, and paladins may all be found serving here, some of whom were patients here at some point in the past.

The temple itself appears to be grown from fey versions of 7 huge redwood trees, their branches shaped to form a high vaulted ceiling, and their trunks formed into rooms and alcoves. The place is lit as if by sunlight filtering through the foliage overhead. large branches form stairs spiraling around each trunk providing access to walkways, balconies, and rooms above. Unlike most of the other temples in the realms, there is no price or mandatory “donation” for healing, and you are allowed to stay as long as you like. Only those with evil intent are bared from entry. Simple, but clean and comfortable rooms, and fresh food is provided for guests. While there is no charge for staying and healing, due to it's location, few make it here without great difficulty, or divine favor. Those who do are often those with the greatest needs and most difficult sicknesses.

A Unicorn named Shadowstep is the lord of the manor and guardian of the grove in its central courtyard. It's presence lends an aura of calm and healing to the grounds and amplifies any healing magic cast here. Thanks to Shadowstep's presence, even curses affecting those who arrive are temporarily suppressed.
