Mana-Leak
Vibrant colors that shift prismatically between all the mana colors, and sometimes more. Though harmless, it has been aptly named "Vampire Spots" or "Vampire Bites" for it's mana draining properties.
Transmission & Vectors
Mana Leak is highly contaigous as it is easily transmitted through contact. It's like glitter, in the fact that once it's on you, it doesn't wash off until the condition runs it's course. Of course, the spots stick to any solid surface. So coming into physical contact with the spots will cause them to spread.
Mana-Leak can also be transmitted via a vampire
Causes
A glowing color-shifting spot, similar to a splotch of paint will stain a surface. If disturbed, the stain transmits to the new surface like candles sharing flames.
Symptoms
For each spot that stains the afflicted, their mana gradually leaks from their mana pool as though they've contracted a temporary form of vampirism.
Treatment
Isolate the afflicted from physical contact with others and quarantine for a week until all of the mana-leaks seal and fade.
In the meantime, the afflicted can use mana crystals as an external mana pool for general operations, or use a mana injector to counteract the loss of mana.
Prevention
The best way to prevent catching mana-leak is to keep a safe distance from it. This mostly means just avoid touching the glowy colorful paint splotches, no matter how tempting it may be.
Epidemiology
There's always one idiot who doesn't realize how contaigous mana-leak is and goes on with their day. Once an outbreak starts, it lasts between one to two months before the outbreak dies down and all operations can resume normally.
Most major outbreaks of Mana-Leak tend to happen during festivals or times when dense crowds are present. The most common places for Mana-Leak outbreaks are Icarus, Veil, and Ahresi.
Cultural Reception
As it's a relatively common condition. Most cultures view afflicted as sick or ill.
In a very normal sense, it's recommended not to let an ill person go to work and get others sick.
