Dain, City of Bismuth

The Dainite's City of Bismuth is located at the northwestern foot of the Island's volcano. It has two main areas, one at the ocean and one at the volcano's base. In between the two are vast tracts of farmland, communities, and industry. The primary feature of Bismuth is a large lava river that continuously flows from the volcano all the way to the sea, forming basalt and bismuth deposits along it's edges.   The port is a near 5km wide and half a kilometer deep. The sand and loam the city was built on has been replaced with obsidian glasses, basalt, and andesite as the foundation for roads and buildings. The seawater is mostly consumed by a delta of evergrowing stone and floating pumice from where the lava river flows into the lukewarm ocean.   The midlands of Bismuth are the lifeblood for it's citizens. The foods cultivated with the volcanic enriched soil are the sole sustenance for the Bismuthians. The midlands are also home to the lava-pop bottlers of Bismuth (they were kicked out of the main areas after trying to make a banana republic, so they have to settle for rural area.)   The volcano side of Bismuth is the most developed place in Dain. They've mastered masonry and concrete manufacturing in order to make sturdy buildings to withstand the violent quakes of Dain. The city is sprawling with countless channels of walkways and from a bird's eye view, the varying streets and alleys look like the ridges of a bismuth crystal. The cityfolk have also reverse engineered warding spells and runes and have a state-of-the-art anti volcano magi-dome over the entire 7km by 7km city. Bismuth is home to pioneers of uninhibited alchemy, magic, and economy. Though, they are all Dainites for as much as the word pioneer means.   All in all, Bismuth is the safest city for tourists if you can handle the demanding, yet friendly nature of it's citizens.
