If there's anything I can appreciate about this city, it's that the night life is more exciting than I ever expected. The Moonwell is truly a well that never empties.
— Sailor's Guide to Savelan Shores
Morningtide is a city located in the northmost reaches of the Savelan Northlands, occupying the northeast cape of the Kingdom of Arsavela.

Cycles of the Day

The people of Morningtide operate on schedules and patterns tied closely to the day-night cycle. This traditional way of living was introduced by the Ilogari who once made up a bulk of the city's population, but was retained by the population even as the Ilogari made their exit.
Certain tasks or jobs are understood to be restricted to specific time windows throughout the day, and most cultural traditions take into account what time it will be when they are put into practice, influencing the flow of activities such as prayer, play, food preparation, and more.

Old Paths
The modern infrastructure of Morningtide is built on and around the historic structures and city plans laid out by the Ilogari who founded the city centuries ago.
Some sacred districts were left wholly untouched in the time since they had departed; residents held onto the belief that the Ilogari would return one day but, eventually, that belief fell away — though the practice of leaving the sacred sites alone remained part of the local tradition.

Sun's Retreat

Morningtide was historically occupied by the Ilogari settlers that once called the Kingdom of Arsavela home. Though these settlers did retreat en masse back to their ancestral homeland in Ba'logor, the city they left behind still boasted a fair population of native Savelan residents who had to quickly rise to fill the leadership roles that were abandoned in this mass exodus.
Much of the city's faithful infrastructure and cultural sites for the Ilogari was upkept by its remaining residents, but a lack of understanding in regard to their significance and purpose led to many of these old structures falling to ruin with time. With buildings abandoned, cultural ties forgotten, and original caretakers gone maintaining the city as it was in its prime was an impossible task.
