City of Brass
The Elemental Plane of Fire consists mostly of seas of lava separating small areas of still solid rock. The City of Brass is the largest contiguous settlement on the plane and is surprisingly hospitable. Which is to say, it is a terrible place to live for most, but they can survive without burning to death immediately.
Preciselly when the city was built is unknown. Still, it was long before the First Breaking because as various beings entered the world through that rift, they sometimes found themselves thrown into the dangers here. Most likely, it was created by Kossuth as a place to have worshippers near him without the temptation of letting a sudden plume of flame devour them. However, he has installed an Ifrit named Marrake al-Sidan al-Hariq ben Lazan as Sultan and overseer of the city. Or, it might be that the Ifrit stole the city from him. Details differ a lot depending on who you ask.
Government
While the Sultan rules absolute, he also doesn't care much about activities that don't threaten the peace of the city. There are guards everywhere to ensure his command is carried out to the letter and spirit. The rules that to exist are intended to keep power in the hands of the powerful and ensure the weak have no choice but to endure.
Industry & Trade
Many of those who aren't welcome to trade elsewhere come here to do so. Slaves, strange items, and much more flow through the city every day. The Nine Hells have an infernal embassy here in order to trade and negotiate with those unwilling to travel to somewhere like Dis.
One of the major categories of import is food. Many of those who live here don't need traditional food or water, but enough do that it is highly sought after.
Architecture
There are many different styles of buildings here, from nearly every part of the planes and every era. However, buildings are always made from metal, stone, and glass in order to withstand the heat. These are also nearly the only materials available locally.
