Leuthsik Mountain

Only recently discovered on the northwestern continent of the known world, the mountain shoots up from the center of the island, towering over the rest of the mountains, jet black, and not matching the surrounding geology.

Discovery

Found by the halfling explorer Trylisk Geonder and his band of explorers and traders, when they journeyed inland seeking food water to refill their ship's stores.   The mountain caused many of the party, mostly humans, to become shaken when they got close to the mountain, immediately causing stories and old wives tales to spring to life. Trylisk sent the men back to the ship, and went towards the mountain with his best friend and companion, the dwarf Ginden Fireblock. A few of the other men also tagged along. As the group approached the based of mountain, it lit up, a deep purple. The group stared at the mountain for a long time, before Ginden broke the silence and awe which entralled the group.   Ginden confidently strode up to the mountain, swung his handpick into the rock. It flashed at the spot of strike. His stroke broke off a large chunk of stone. He placed it in his backpack. Turning around so they could head back to the ship, He saw all of his companions, except Trylisk and one of the men, laying on the ground, as piles of bones and nothing else.   The whole party realized what happened, and they fled the scene. When the party finally caught up to the other member who had turned back, chaos insued as the original returning member realized a few people missing. The story led to absolute anarchy, and they fled back to the ship. When the ship left, they left Ginden and Trylisk behind as cursed.
