While the Fareints had their whole prophecy, the Dranith had always been "water people" and they never believed that a monster created a storm. So when the Fareints came with that [tooltip:read Saviours from Fedan'thprophecy of the lake[tooltip], a group of Dranith went to check the lake on their own.
Since then, and for a whole decade, the Dranith tried to reach the bottom with everything they had, but never reached it. The rumors about it being bottomless started to appear.
With all these expeditions, many Dranith have died in that decade, everyone thinking that they pushed so down that they could not make it in time to the surface. And after sometime, stories started to arrive where the Asheks had settled down while exploring this new (for them) continent. People talked about people with scaled found death, in the ocean on the west, a bit north from where they were settled. This started the myth of the lake being bottomless and it connecting to the other side of the world.
The truth is that the lake has an actual bottom, but there are subterranean rivers that feed the lake and retire water from it way deep in the whole, creating strong currents that can kill careless diver and drag the body of the diver in the northwest, where the subterranean rivers meet the ocean.
Obviously, this myth and the Fareints prophecy are incompatible and thus, they usually don't ever talk about the lake, but since the The dawn of magic, the Dranith myth has been proved false and after more than 30 waiting for a monster to emerge from there, the Fareints have left the prophecy aside (the fact that religion is way less important nowadays also helped ignore the prophecy). Together, they have united forces to explore the rests of the fallen island and to extract its valuables.
