    The Godswars
    Military action

    Very shortly after assuming dominance over Iatar, the Gods, in their petty nature, began to war against themselves, much as the Titans did before them. It was thus that the world was thrust back into turmoil under the rule of seemingly tyrannical deities.

    Secret of Divinity Hidden

    In a show of greed, the Gods destroy all knowledge of Divine Ascension, so that none might rise to usurp them.

    Throughout the Godswars, it becomes clear that not all Gods are equal, and a hierarchy of power is established, which remains to this day.

    9 Yazanai's Gauntlet

    Asharaz the Usurper
    Life, Birth

    On the Day of Mischief, 1547 CE, Asharaz the Usurper is born of the God Yazanai to a human mother in Iatos.

    30 Amnar's Vigil

    The Reign of Asharaz
    Revolution

    Asharaz the Usurper, his request to be accepted amongst the divine having been rejected by his Father, sought power for himself through other means. Through his Semi-Divine nature he assumed great control over The Chaos, and used it to conquer the entire continent of Faenir, which he ruled from his fortress at Varysh.

    25 Amnar's Vigil

    Army of the Gods Unites
    Military action

    Realising the threat to their power, the Gods stop warring amongst themselves and unite to stop Asharaz from achieving his purpose of Divine Ascension. Under the leadership of Tor, the Gods assemble an enormous army of mortals to aid them in the war to come.

    30 Amnar's Vigil

    The Cataclysm
    Disaster / Destruction

    On the 30th of Amnar's Vigil, 1999 CE, The army of the Gods assembled outside Varysh, on the Plains of Asharaz, with a force not even the Usurper himself could oppose with all his might. Thrown into desperation, Asharaz attempts to Ascend using all The Chaos he had gathered for himself. The vast energy of the consumption was too much for even his Demi-God form to contain, and The Chaos was violently released from his body, creating an world-altering explosion never before seen on the face of Iatar.

    The Gods Depart

    It was during this time that The Gods endeavoured to remove their physical presence from the face of Iatar. Amnar was the first to leave, and finally, with Tor's departure, all 14 Gods of Iatar left the world, never to return.

    The Restoration
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

    Immediately prior to His departure, Tor commanded His Clerical Order to cleanse Iatar of The Chaos, so that history would be forbidden from repeating itself.

    Intercontinental Travel Ceases
    Civil action

    In an effort to slow or halt the spread of The Chaos throughout Iatar, the Order of Tor outlaws travel between the major continents, and much of the technology needed for such journeys is lost to time.

    Geography Stabilised
    Geological / environmental event

    With most of The Chaos removed from the material world, the geography of Iatar is stabilised, and now closely resembles the modern world.

    1 Tor's Justice

    The Long Peace Begins
    Political event

    Somewhat ironically named, this period contains some of the bloodiest time in Iatar's history.

    Mistview Isles Sealed
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

    Rothgar the Dwarf, leader of the Secret Order, seals the Mistview Isles by creating the Sea of Storms in an attempt to restrict access to the Isles from the Randirion Empire. No contact has been made with Isles since that time, and it is unknown if they are still inhabited at all.
