Dracaris, the Dragon Character in Iatar | World Anvil

Dracaris, the Dragon

As wise as He was terrible, Dracaris demanded respect more than fear from His thralls. Oddly enough, He was less tyrannical than the rest of the Titans of Iatar's elder age, according to the legends. He mainly abstained from the insolent bickering of the lesser Titans, only becoming involved when directly challenged, and even then didn't indulge in the slaughter. All that pacifism didn't make Him any easier to kill however, if anything, He was the toughest of the lot, being the last to fall throughout the Great Clash. It's said that it took the combined might of nine Gods to kill the Dragon Titan, and even then He killed six of them. Some whisper, even to this day, that He was not killed that day, and of the various heretical Titanic cults, His is by far the most populous.

Dracaris was the patron Titan of the Race of Dragons, and He created them. Whilst there is no commonly established hierarchy within the Titanic Pantheon, as there is within the Divine Pantheon, Dracaris reigned supreme among the Titans, and was the One who convinced the other Titans to join Him in the creation of Iatar itself. Despite this, He often remained absent from the various petty wars waged by the other Titans throughout Titan's Rule. He was believed to have inhabited the continent of Zhamaes, as not only was that the site of His death, but is also believed to be where Dragons originated from.

With His act of the creation of the Dragons, He became the first Titan to weave sentient life out of The Chaos, and He spent most of His time fostering and perfecting them, resulting in the unparalleled mastery seen in the Dragons today when compared to the other mortal races. He was the most generous Titan in giving control of The Chaos to His devotees, though his patience and sheer mastery of the force resulted in a controlled tutelage, and therefore very few Dragons ever sought to use The Chaos against their patron. Of all the Titans, He was most loved by His thralls, and many Dragons still worship Him to this day, rejecting the authority of the Gods. Such Dragons are particularly opposed to Tor, the God who felled Dracaris during The Great Clash with a mighty blow from His armoured fist.
