Azathoth

Azathoth The Outter Gods (a.k.a. The Blind Idiot God)

Azathoth, known as "The Blind Idiot God," remains an enigmatic entity defying a fixed description. Each account of Azathoth is subject to the individual's imagination, perpetually shifting and changing.   The prevailing belief surrounding Azathoth portrays him in an eternal slumber, a state that sustains the existence of humanity and all that surrounds it. According to this theory, everything is but a figment of his dream, and we are merely manifestations within his subconscious.   During one of his profound slumbers, the tale goes that Azathoth brought forth eight beings into being. Among them was Abraxas, the embodiment of manifestation and thought. Fearing the repercussions of Azathoth's awakening, Abraxas convinced her seven siblings to employ their instruments and create music that could lull Azathoth back to sleep. For should he awaken, their very existence, much like the lifeforms that came before them, would be wiped out from existence.
