Christian German Soldier

Brandt is a bright young soldier who is a Christian. His faith and courage will be tested when his military orders run contrary to his beliefs about right and wrong.
Good arc: He develops into a courageous champion of justice, repeatedly putting the lives and well-being of others, especially Anne, above his own.
Bad arc: He develops into a bully, letting his faith be replaced by a lust for power and the respect of his commander, the Nazi Commandant.
