Chapter 4 ANGELS, DEMONS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. LUKE 4:41 NIV
So there are angels and demons? But of course. Angels and demons are the primary actors in the SUPOX, or at least they were up until Jesus Christ joined mortal man's ranks. Since then, the Holy Spirit is alive and very active with anybody who puts their confidence in Jesus Christ. But more on that later.   Angels and demons are, in essence, the same, but now look to be very different creatures as a result of their decisions. An angel is something of a transmitter, radiating and channeling the power of God. In the absence of God's power, they don't die but rather stagnate, rot from the inside out. Demons are then like dead angels, animated but with no hope.
In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.” HEBREWS 1:7 NIV

"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’” MATTHEW 25:41 NKJV

God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment. 2 PETER 2:4 NIV
Angels are servants, and act on assignments given by God. Should God assign them to a human, and should that human pray or speak God's word, they also can act to support a human-given directive. Once again, this is an intentionally simple explanation; there is much more to say on this later.
“Do you think I [Jesus Christ] cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” MATTHEW 26:53 NIV

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? HEBREWS 1:14 NIV

In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks. I ate no pleasant bread. No meat or wine came into my mouth. I didn’t anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled. In the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel, I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold, there was a man clothed in linen, whose thighs were adorned with pure gold of Uphaz. His body also was like beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches. His arms and his feet were like burnished bronze. The voice of his words was like the voice of a multitude. I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; for the men who were with me didn’t see the vision; but a great quaking fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves. So I was left alone, and saw this great vision. No strength remained in me; for my face grew deathly pale, and I retained no strength. Yet I heard the voice of his words. When I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground. … Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come for your words’ sake.” DANIEL 10:2-9 & 12 WEB
Demons are servants turned insurgents, having joined the devil in the desperately flawed plan to overthrow God from the throne.   Now convicted of their failed coup attempt and forced out of heaven, they are making their last stand in the SUPOX that surrounds the NAPOX, an area that's supposed to be ruled by Mankind. Generally, they survive by feeding on human souls, a substitute for the life of God flowing directly through them.
The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! … You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. EZEKIEL 34:1-2 & 4-5 NIV

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. REVELATION 12:7-9 NIV

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. ISAIAH 14:12-15 NIV
When under threat by angels or the Holy Spirit himself, demons hide behind complicit human hostages. To humans, should they be aware of them at all, they present as angels, perhaps even God himself.
Satan himself masquerades as an Angel of light. 2 CORINTHIANS 11:14 NIV

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 TIMOTHY 4:1 NIV

“I [Jesus Christ] know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.” REVELATION 2:9 NIV

…[the Jews] protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.” JOHN 8:41-42 NIV
Angels’ and demons’ scope of activity is entirely governed by the Law of God. Like the law of gravity, there is no way to break such laws. An angel respects the intent of the law and operates within it for the glory of God. A demon twists the word of God into deception, and in doing so, inadvertently severs himself from his own life-source, the light and life of God.   In essence, the key thing to observe is that both angels and demons operate within the law. They are no more capable of defying the law than someone on earth might defy gravity.
For I [Paul] am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ROMANS 8:38-39 NIV
The devil and his demons find their power entirely in the lie. They have no creative power; they have no ability to form things on their own. They can only take something God has already created, or something he has already said, and twist it. Through this means, humans can be tricked, and in their deception unintentionally offer up their soul as food.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 PETER 5:8 NIV
Harvesting the remnant of God’s breath from living humans is the means by which the devil and his fallen angels survive. For this reason, from the dawn of mankind to today's technological age, there is a continual push for sacrifice. From pagan rituals to the clinical reaping of fetal babies, these ideas are fanned into flame by hungry demonic powers. Sacrifice is the basis of a plentiful food supply.
“He [the Devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” JOHN 8:44 NIV

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” JOHN 10:10 NIV

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 NIV

When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust. When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground. PSALM 104:29 NIV

As long as I have life within me, the breath of God in my nostrils, my lips will not say anything wicked, and my tongue will not utter lies. JOB 27:2-4 NIV
Ultimately death is a result of separation from God, and this will be discussed in more depth later. The key point to note now is that death has been weaponized – fallen angels have the ability to separate humans from God with a lie. Death is similar to poison in that it, for the most part, it won't kill somebody immediately but decomposes a person over time. Prior to Christ, mankind was the walking dead.
So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! ROMANS 7:21-24 NIV

The mind governed by the flesh is death. ROMANS 8:6 NIV

If you live according to the flesh, you will die. ROMANS 8:13 NIV
